Better Than A Hotel Room: Sleep Aboard A 60-Foot Private Yacht In Cinque Terre

Stay Overnight on a 60 Foot Yacht

The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.” — Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild

Recent research into brain health and longevity suggests that the regular experience of novelty is something essential to a long and happy life. Doing something new. The rush of dopamine. Activated pleasure centers.

Keep that in mind next time you’re booking accommodations for an upcoming getaway!

After all, why settle for the same-old chain hotel room when you can stay overnight on a yacht?

So, what do I get with this yacht?

Stay Overnight on a 60 Foot Yacht

The opportunity to discover unique accommodations, such as this one, are one of the positive aspects of Airbnb.

This particular lodging option is a 60 foot private wood classic yacht built in 1948 and restored in 2012. The yacht is moored in Le Grazie, a true Italian fishing town in Cinque Terre, away from the tourists and only a 15 minute drive (or bus) from La Spezia train station.

The yacht sleeps 4+2 (the +2 beds are quite small and suitable for small guests) and offers those staying onboard an array of amenities including WiFi, a daily Italian breakfast (coffee, tea, milk, bisquits, jams, chocolate, butter, traditional ligurian focaccia, bread, water, fruit), a stereo + iPod speakers, an inflatable boat tender, PLUS snorkeling and swimming equipment, and more!

While the published rate is only for use of the docked yacht as an overnight accommodation, the owners are also amenable to arrange an expert English-speaking crew (with skipper and 1st mate) with deep knowledge of the area to take you sailing in the friendly waters off the Ligurian coastline!
